beeline
bee（ミツバチ）が巣箱へ一直線にもどるということから、beelineは、一直線、最短距離、という意味があります。
急いでどこにも寄らずに直行する、最短距離を行く、と動詞でも使えます。
例えば、After he heard that his child got sick, he beelined for home. （子供が病気になったという知らせを聞いて、急いで家に直行した。）と言えます。
make a beeline forという言い方もあり、As soon as the movie was over, we made a beeline for the car, because we did not want to get stuck at the parking lot.（駐車場が混雑して出られなくなるといけないので、映画が終わるとすぐに急いで車へ直行した。）などと使えます。
